Beneath the noise, the rush, the din,
Lies a place of peace within.
Embrace the silence, let it sing,
In harmony, our spirits take wing.

About Me

My journey has led me to a deep passion for psychology and healing, shaping my work as a psychotherapist. I believe that a safe, non-judgmental space is essential for growth, self-exploration, and meaningful change. Every client’s story is unique, and my approach is tailored to honor their lived experiences, cultural backgrounds, and individual needs. I integrate person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive methods to foster healing and resilience.

With a background as a physician and extensive experience supporting individuals with chronic pain, I have witnessed firsthand the profound connection between physical and emotional well-being. For seven years, I provided supportive psychotherapy to patients struggling with the psychological impact of chronic pain, helping them manage distress, anxiety, and life adjustments. This experience strengthened my commitment to trauma-informed psychotherapy and the Biopsychosocial model, recognizing the complex interplay of biological, psychological, and social factors in emotional well-being. In therapy, I draw from various evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), to offer personalized support that empowers clients toward positive change.

Experience

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and hold a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University, Canada. My professional background includes years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals dealing with chronic pain, anxiety, trauma, and relational challenges. Originally trained as a specialist physician (anesthesiologist) in Iran, I spent several years practicing in the Middle East before pursuing two years of postgraduate training in Interventional Chronic Pain Management at Montpellier University in France. Upon moving to Canada, I transitioned fully into psychotherapy, using my expertise to support individuals, couples, and adolescents in private practice.

Approach to Therapy

My therapeutic style is humanistic, person-centered, and deeply attuned to cultural and individual differences. When trauma is a concern, I work within a trauma-informed framework to ensure safety and empowerment. I integrate a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). For relational concerns and couples therapy, I incorporate EFT and the Gottman Method to help strengthen connections and improve communication.
