Couples Therapy: Rekindling Connection, Restoring Trust, and Deepening Love

Relationships are at the core of our emotional well-being, yet even the strongest partnerships can face challenges. Couples therapy provides a supportive space to rebuild connection, improve communication, and navigate conflict in a way that strengthens the bond between partners. Using evidence-based approaches like Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, I help couples move from disconnection to deeper understanding, trust, and intimacy.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, is rooted in the science of attachment and focuses on creating secure, loving bonds between partners. As Dr. Johnson beautifully puts it, “The most functional way to regulate difficult emotions in love relationships is to share them.” EFT helps couples recognize negative interaction patterns, express their deeper emotions and needs, and foster a secure, lasting connection. I have official training in EFT and integrate its principles to guide couples toward meaningful and lasting change.

The Gottman Method, grounded in over four decades of relationship research, offers practical tools to improve communication, manage conflict, and enhance emotional and physical intimacy. By identifying destructive cycles and strengthening the friendship and admiration between partners, this approach helps couples build a resilient and fulfilling relationship.

Whether you’re struggling with communication, trust issues, or simply feeling disconnected from your partner, couples therapy can help you develop the skills to create a loving and secure relationship. Through a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and compassionate approach, I support couples in deepening their understanding of one another and rekindling their emotional connection.
